HI,
I can't get the inteerface to show up when I start Hostmonitor as a service ... when I try to open the application I get a message asking my if I want to open a 2nd instance in application mode.
How can I start only an interface for the service ?
Thanks

When HostMonitor starts as a service, it uses the system account (as all interactive services). But this account may not have all the necessary permissions, so some tests will not work correctly (UNC test, "disk free space" test for shared drives, "CPU Usage" test for remote machines, etc). If you need these tests, you will need to assign a special user account on the Service page in the Options dialog. In this case HostMonitor will impersonate the security context of the user. Do not change the account using the system utility "Services". If you do so, HostMonitor may be unable to interact with the desktop.

So, you should:
1. Stop KS Advanced Host Monitor service
2. Run Services applet (services.msc) and enable "Local system account" on Log on tab of KS Advanced Host Monitor service. Also you should mark "Allow service to interract with desktop" checkbox
3. Start HostMonitor as application and in Options > Service tab you shoud specify necessary user account.
4. Close application and start service

Max

If you work with HostMonitor installed on local system, you should see HostMonitor's icon in system tray. Click on the icon and you will get access to GUI.
If you do not see the icon, read previous post from Max
If you are using Terminal Service to work with HostMonitor installed on remote system, please read the following article: http://www.ks-soft.net/cgi-bin/phpBB/vi ... php?t=1100
