Alive Ratio seems to be wrong

Post by Snyder »

Hello,

we do every 5 minutes a ping test for all maschine as mastertest for serveral service tests. The statistic for all ping tests displays a wrong value for "Alive"
For each test the value is nearly 75%, it doesn't matter wether the hosts are sometimes down or 100% up.

For example:
Total test: 9292
Passed: 6998 (75%)
Failed: 0 (0%)
Unknown: 0 (0%)

Total time: 32days 07:06:32
"Alive" time: 24 days 07:51:04 (75%)
Dead time: 0:0:0...
Unkown time: 00:00:00...

In this example, the host was never down, but the statistic displays a alive time with only 75% ?!?!

Very interesting. I suppose, that test depends on another one, and you have selected "Synchronize counters" checkbox, haven't you? Perhaps, this is a cause of such strange behaviour. You could read about more Master/Dependent tests here: http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... htm#Dialog

Thx, the switch "Synchronize counters" was the problem.
