RMA Application Error when clients perform a shutdown

Post by veedar »

Everything seems to work okay. My only problem is when my Windows client PC's perform a restart or shutdown a popup message box appears on the screen with...

RMA.exe - Application Error
The exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occured in the application at location 0x7c81eb33

...the box appears for about 5 seconds and then the shutdown continues as normal. My users see this and they think there is something wrong with their system. Is there a way to supress or hide this message or maybe fix the cause of it?

As a side note if it matters I used rma_serv to push the service out to my client PC's.

Could you provide a bit more information about this issue?
Windows version? Service Pack? What version of the RMA do you use?
Version of HM? Is RMA started as service or as application? If as service, is it running under admin privileges?

Clients run Windows XP SP2
RMA version 3.15
HM version 5.70
RMA is started as a service using Local System Account

Even if I do not help you, I will collect information Alex will use to solve your problem more quickly.

Could you check RMA log (log1.txt, log2.txt files in RMA's directory) ? Any errors?

I think you should try newer version of RMA, such 3.30. In that version was fixed similar problem.
