Is it possible to use a user defined variable in the Commnet Field?
We have a number of test that require the same corrective action for our on call person on multiple servers. One example: Low Available Hard Drive Space Test - corrective action: "1-Empty Recycle Bin. 2-Clear Internet Cache 3-Remove Temp Files."
We would then include %TaskComment% in the page to the on call user's Blackberry so the corrective action associated with the test would be included and if this is possible some form of Responsible Person information that we have in UDVs as well.
It would be nice to be able to substitute in something like %udv_fixhdd% for each of these test instead of the same line of code and then also have one place to correct our response actions.
If there's another work around the people are using to accomplish this variety of task I'm open to that as well.
Thanks in advance for the response and thanks as always for the great product.

Using a UDV in the Comment Field?
Thanks for the prompt response.
What about recursing that UDV in subsequent usage of the %CommentLineX% and %TaskCommnet%? I'm trying to make a report (using custom html) for my boss that shows the tests that are being run and the action guide for the test (the UDVs I put into the comment field). All I get when using the %CommentLineX% macro in the HTML report is the name of the UDV, not the value of the UDV.
Sorry if this is old news or a newbie level question; we really haven't done a lot with custom reporting or comments or even variables. I'm trying to turn our usage of HostMonitor into a "one stop" for on-call administrative tasks instead of having a hostmonitor page sent to the Blackberry then logging in to the network and opening an excel spreadsheet that was (hopefully) filled out with the test and resolution information for the problem - we have rotating 24x7 on call duty with some staff who have limited server experience and need the cues on how to proceed.
Thanks again.

What version of HostMonitor do you use? What about recursing that UDV in subsequent usage of the %CommentLineX% and %TaskCommnet%?
