Sampling stops after 3-4 hours

Post by imad »

Hi,
I've been evaluating HostMonitor for a few days, and so far iI love it. I have noticed a couple of problems however, the first of which is needs to be resolved before I could actually use the tool.
I have about 30-40 tests running on a Windows 2003 Server as a service (Host Monitor 5.70). It appears that logging stop spontaneously after 3-4 hours. The tests are all either "ping" or "perf counter" tests. The service doesn't actually stop (in the service manager), but restarting it manually starts the sampling again. The system log doesn't report any errors, and doesn't say that the sampling has stopped. Any ideas? I'm hoping that this is just a limitation of the trial version.

My second problem is that the white list feature of report manager in the log analyzer doesn't seem to work. All the tests are reported no matter what's in the while list. This problem isn't a showstopper though.

Thanks!

Do you see "evaluation version" message in NT event log?

Have you disabled all items in "Include following tests" list?
Quote from the manual:
If you want to display only tests that are specified in the "White list", unmark all test methods in the "Include following tests (methods)" option.

Yes, I do. So that explains it. Phew :)

No I hadn't. I assumed the filters were AND'd, but I guess it's more of an OR. Great!

Thanks for the quick reply!

We can provide evaluation registration code for several test items (10-15). If you need that, please send request to sales@ks-soft.net
