Event log test

Post by vidyagana »

Hi Alex,

On one server I setup the NT Events log test. I am monitoring the Application logs for eventtype = 'Error'. This works fine for the most part ie., I am getting emails whenever there is an error in the Application Log. But this morning I had an information in the Application Log and I got an email for that also. Is there anything I am missing? Also, I have configured the action profiles to only send email for "Dead" actions. Please let me know.

Thanks.

The problem is that though I had setup HostMonitor to only send emails for EventType = 'Error' I got an email for EventType = 'Information'.

Thanks.

Please, doublecheck to ensure that in Event Log Test Properties window you have selected "Any from the following" radio button, not "Any".

Could you please send test settings and that e-mail (you have received from HostMonitor) to support@ks-soft.net

Settings looks fine. Also I have imported your test and tested HostMonitor using your settings. It works fine, reports about "Error" events only.
What version of HostMonitor and agent do you use?
Windows version?
Service Pack?

As I see on screen shot Event Log log contains "Error" record (11:42 am). May be HostMonitor reported about that event? Could you add %NTEventTime% variable into e-mail template? In this case we will know for sure which event has triggered alert.

Regards
Alex
