I am having a problem with three of my tests. I keep getting paged that my web and mail servers are down. I am testing the connection with the three tests(tcp connection, url request, smtp request) Host monitor will tell me the connections are no answer but I can telnet to the smtp port at the same time host monitor states that the smtp pore is no answer and even do a refresh with a responce of no answer. the same results go for the tcp connection and url request. does anybody have a answer. I am currently using version 3.71 so I downloaded version 5.70 and it has the same results
Most likelly you have installed some antivirus monitor, personal firewall or content monitoring software. These programs (especially Norton Antivirus Monitor or McAfee) may lead to this problem, they allow TCP connections to some program while restrict others.
I dont have any of the above items installed. and nothing has ben changed or installed on this machine for at least 3 months but in the last 2 weeks the problems started occuring
Sorry, we cannot investigate such problems as we do not have access to your network. Use some network packet analyzer to see what is going on your system.
