Display log only for alerted actions

Post by rbartels »

I'm attempting to put hostmonitor in front of the operations staff. I'd like to give them the rci www displaying the quick-log however there is just too much information happening. The operators don't really know all the servers/services that are being tested.

I would like to display JUST the bad tests that are actually tripping an alert profile (any) Is there a way to create a "view" that just shows those alerts tripping a alert profile and not having every "bad" show up in the quick-log display tab?

If anyone has some good acknowledgement procedures in use with hostmonitor please give me a heads-up.

Also

Is there a way to link dependancies across folders to create a special alert? Something like special test = (folder1(test1 or test2 or test3) and folder2(test1 or test2 or test3) and folder3(test1.....test20)) I would like to throw special critical alerts if the monitor sees issues .. EMAIL CLUSTER ALERT etc....

thanks

I am afraid HostMonitor/RCC does not provide such option.

You want to start alert when ALL tests from some folders become "bad"? Theoretically you may use "advanced mode" actions: http://www.ks-soft.com/hostmon.eng/mfra ... ncedaction
But if you have a lot of test items, this method is inconvenient :(
