Re: HyperV guest and host status

HyperV guest and host status

Hello, I have an issue trying to make guest status and host status work (other tests are here for diag purposes): https://i.imgur.com/UHfuSmA.png I read this topic and checked said classes on hyper v host : MSVM_xxxx I find under root\virtualization \v2 and not root\virtualization Win32_PerfFormatte...

Re: Vulnerability unquoted service path

I did update the whole package to last version, active rma setup now 4.44 and yes after reinstalling the service as you suggested, the path now has quotes.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Vulnerability unquoted service path

I just tried, the uninstall does indeed delete the entry \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ActiveRMAService

But after reinstalling, the path is the same under the value ImagePath and stays unquoted.

ActiveRMA Setup 4.36

Re: Vulnerability unquoted service path

Ok so for the installation, I guess I have to do a uninstall then reinstall, because those RMA are updated periodically when you release new versions.

I'll maybe try to fix some of it through the add of the quotes in the registry value.

Thanks for your answer.

Vulnerability unquoted service path

Hello, We did another scan of one of our customer with a new tool, this one points out ActiveRMAservice to be subject of an exploit: https://github.com/nickvourd/Windows-Local-Privilege-Escalation-Cookbook/blob/master/Notes/UnquotedServicePath.md https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/discussions/windo...

Re: Bulk Change of SNMP community string

I previously explained my problem here, our technician aren't allowed on hostmonitor, only RCC. So when IPs or communty or any parameter changes, we can't always have an admin who has access to hostmonitor server build and run script. Variables in tests are indeed a way of managing this, I'll give i...

Re: Bulk Change of SNMP community string

I'm just hijacking the topic to say that an edit of several selected items that have a common parameter would be nice.

Changing the timeout of several pings, changing the community of several snmp tests, IP on several iLO tests, etc.

Monitoring VMware alarms

Hello,

I just wanted to know how you can achieve this with Hostmonitor without adding snmp trap to every alarm.

I'm a bit surprised that VM host status of VM guest status can't return BAD status when a critical alarm is on.

Maybe this should go into wishlist?

Hi!

Thanks for your answer.
TBH it doesn't feel like it's as easy as using the UI, plus we have operators that aren't allowed to use scripts or access to the server.

Sometimes there are indeed hundre of tests to modify and your solution may be adapted, but sometimes it's less than ten.

Editing several same-type tests parameters

Hello, I hope I'm not missing a already existing function: I'd like to edit the trigger of several tests of the same type. For exemple I have some SNMP tests that gives me iLO firmware versions. I'd like the ability to edit the triggers of all those test at once when a new version of the firmware is...

Thanks for your return.

Did apply it on two servers, it works, but if rma was quarantined you still have to autorize it. I did it manually.

Rma is not flagged by windows defender anymore.

We momentary treated the issue by launching this command on each concerned server: powershell.exe -command Set-MpPreference -ExclusionPath 'C:\Program Files (x86)\HostMonitor\RMA-Win\rma_active.exe' net start ActiveRMAService It just adds the rma exe to exclusions in windows defender then start the ...

I have still yet to consolidate data events but it seems to be happening only on 2016 and 2019 servers.

I'm checking 2012 ones rn.
