Satisfied since many years back

We have been using Host Monitor since early version 3, and have never even considered changing to another product.

New great functions added all the time, the problem is to have the time to implement all new test possibilities.

No, it would be used to run other commands on the PC which is running HM, example I create a program that retrieves information from Active Directory and call it PHONE, I send an SMS in to the system and if my phonenumber is in the accepted list, I can run the command. SMS to PC : PHONE Eric Anderse...

SMS run Commands

A nice feature to have would be the ability to send SMS in to the server and run Commands/Programs, you should be able to configure by the originated SMS number who can run the available commands. If you have sensitive commands, for example server restarts, for Extra Security the SMS server could se...

Sending SMS:

I use SmsMaker: http://www.way-x.de/smsmaker, from Host Monitor, I just let HM create a textfile in SmsMaker:s OUT-directory, and SmsMaker send it, I think it works just fine.

A suggestion is to use AutoIT, from http://www.autoitscript.com/ , with AutoIT, you can start/stop programs read the content of a window and write as well. AutoIt has one limitation, you cannot have a screen saver, becuase it can only read and write the active window, but if your monitoring PC is in...

You could set up a test that triigers for 80% CPU usage and for example test it every minute, if 15 subsequent tests alert, then you can kill the process.

Why don't check out AutoIT from http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3, it's a very nice freeware, too bad it isn't that easy to have it run with screen saver on, but if your HM computer is locked into a server room, then it's OK. You can make a script that log on, tests functiopnality and logs of, and...

A nice feature to have would be the ability to have a test make an action if all dependent tests -fails/unknown/OK-, this is for the wish list

Hi Kasper ! The solution I suggested wasn't the idea that you should make your test every 5 minutes, it was just an example, if you use the "ResetRecurrencesAll" 5 or 10 minutes before your clock strikes 8 and "test A" changes from BAD to OK before 8 o'clock, you won't get an SMS...

If you use the "ResetRecurrencesAll" at 07:50 and you make all your tests every 5 minutes, it could fix your problem.

Master tests

I think this wish have been posted before, but it here it comes again. If test C fails, and it is dependent on test B which is dependent on test A, today it is likely that all 3 tests will make an alert. My suggestion is if a test fail, all master tests should be tested and then, as in the caseabove...
