I've build a new computer with a more recent motherboard.

Hostmonitor runs consistently and doesn't stop by itself.

Now I have a spare computer (old one).

Can't wait any longer for a fix on this.
I'm giving up. I've ordered another motherboard in hopes the same trouble won't occur with different hardware.

Yes, Norton AntiVirus not yet installed!!! Nor was it installed when running under XP Pro earlier.
But install Norton is a must for this computer.

More on this. I removed Windows 2K Pro, and re-formatted and installed Windows XP Pro. Hostmon has been running for over 12 hrs without stopping on its own.
