Hi Alex, You're right. A mail I received previous (last year or so) from sales was a bit misleading (""8.06+" means version 8.06 or higher. You don't need new registration codes.") I wonder if we can update to 8.68 (this was released within a year of our renewal), but I'll verify...

License question

A quick license question: We are currently running HostMonitor 8.54 and have a license for 8.06+ We bought an Enterprise license in September 2009, without the lifetime updates. Just to be sure: can we still upgrade to the latest version (8.86) with the current license? I think updating to versions ...

Folder/File Size test: round error

I'm checking the size of a folder which contains the exchange first storage group.
This goes fine, but the test rounds it to 1GB.
E.g.: the size is 4,34GB, but hostmonitor gives me 4GB.
Is there a way to give some more detail, don't let the test round to GB?

No mail on "RMA not connected"

I configured mails to be sent when something is wrong with the return-value of the script, and this goes perfectly fine. However, we also get an email when the script gives an error because the RMA wasn't connected. Is there a way to filter this error out? Meaning: no mail is send when the RMA isn't...

CA ArcServe backup

For those of you who want to monitor the backup on one of your servers, if it's done by ArcServe you can use the following (PowerShell) script to determine status, size, files and remaining capacity of the last backup: # ArcServe.ps1 # Created by Ben Backx # Email: bbackx AT icorda.be # Version: 0.5...

We are running HostMonitor on Windows 2008 x64. The biggest problem I have is with ODBC. HostMonitor (server or agent) is 32bit, by default an ODBC is 64bit. 32bit scripts can't use the 64bit connector, but there is a workaround (If you are using Windows x64 Edition and you want to setup some ODBC t...

Ok, I've been able to narrow the problem down to the opening of an ODBC connection. The error I get when trying without the /B: C:\Users\ADMINI~1.CRI\AppData\Local\Temp\2\TMP-11~1.BAT(33, 1) Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an ar...

FYI, I just installed the active agent on a 32-bit system and here the execution of exact the same script gives no errors and the expected reply... These are my results: 32bit Hostmonitor server, 64bit active agent -> not working 64bit Hostmonitor server, 64bit active agent -> not working 32bit Host...

I could have been more clear. The only things that I changed for the screenshot, are the agent that executes the test (in real life, this is an active RMA) and the parameters (first one is an ODBC, second a password). Everything else shows what is configured. When the script is executed directly for...

Shell-test issues on 64bit

We are trying to monitor several servers at our customers. There are windows server 2003 installations (32bit) and windows server 2008 (64bit). One of our (custom) tests is related to Arcserve backup and getting data of the last backup back. On the 32-bit installations (windows server 2003), this te...

Other 64bit server doesn't have this issue, so it seems something goes wrong with the connection betwoon the agent and the server.

I'll open another topic regarding the shell-script.

thanks,
Ben
