Agreed, as my statement indicated. To document that, I clearly tried it both ways. This was merely background info, to demonstrate what I tried, what I was aware of, and provide information to others reading this post.

Keep reading to see the actual bug...what happens with explorer.exe crashes.

HM inaccessible when explorer.exe crashes

HM inaccessible when explorer.exe crashes I have been running HM 6.54 (just downloaded 7.22c) on Windows XP (sp2). The app is started either from the start group or manually. When minimized, it "was" placed in the system tray. When you select "Icon in the System Tray" and then mi...

Must be end user error. Now it works just like you suggest. Earlier today, I thought Check Process more than would change back to 1 when I changed focus. Tried it three times to make sure. Oh, well.

Sorry.

Test for one process

As I was about to ask, I figured it out...I think. But I thought I would post for the benefit of others. I was triying to figure out how to test for the existence of telnet or tftp services. The Alert when more than has a minimum value of 1. Solution: Check Alert if less than "1" and set i...

RMA response action

Actions associated with Alerts appear to be carried out by HM. It would be nice if the RMA could carry out the action as it's the one with the permissions on the local, possibly non-routable, network.

File Compare with URL

I have gone through HTTP, URL, and File Compare fairly thoroughly, and think this is probably for the wish list. What I want is to be able to download a zip file from a website, compare it to one I already have, and if they are different run a batch file to take action and distribute its files. (And...

Action Profile Copy Dependancies

I have made this mistake several times, so I am going to complain. Telling me that it is by design, is an okay answer. When you copy an action profile, the "on good" actions lose their dependancies. Hence, after setting numerous tasks to this new profile, the next time I start the HM, I ge...

RMA throttling

I can't even say that I need it right now. You already have an option that lets you pick how many tests to perform simultaneously. Say on my primary backbone, I can handle 32 or 64. However, over one or two slow links, I want to slow that down. Could you add an option (long term) to allow throttling...

I too set it up with its own account. Are you thinking of HM changing the password at the: HM (internal) test connect as HM (as a service, startup settings) RMA (service startup settings) Domain/Local Account Or all /smirk Cool Idea. Edit: I should clearify, I have each RMA set up with a domain acco...

Here is the original post before I reread it and thought it was a bit agressive, not to mention lengthy. ---------------------- Two reasons it is desireable to include More and more corporate firewalls are being implemented, not all are in one's control. I remember reading about a separate global search replace tool. I suppose that would satify us. But, I am going yo jump in here and add that switching 50 Ping test from 2000ms to 5000ms would be nice as a group select. If all tests are of a common type, add common field to interface. I do realize th...
