I'm using HM 9.40. It might be working correctly when I set up a standard monitor; currently all the sites I am checking directly with HostMonitor use the same wildcard certificate. I guess my trouble is when I use agents without name resolution. My sites are load balanced and I typically set up mon...

Server Name Indication (SNI)
SNI is an extension to the TLS protocol that allows a web browser to identify the URL it is looking for before SSL is negotiated. This way multiple SSL sites can be hosted in a single IP/Port. SNI has been around since 2003. Apache has supported it since 2009 and Windows IIS started support in Serrv...

Thank you. Additionally, I want to add that overall, I am very impressed with HostMonitor. It is reasonably priced, works very well, and is not overly complicated. I have used various software packages for monitoring and by far, this one is my favorite as it does 90% of what I need out of the box an...

Fair enough. Thank you for the explanation. Possibly, is there a better way to perform multiple actions after a certain amount of down time (rather then after a specific number of failures) For example, after a test is in the 'failed' status for 5 minutes, send an email and text messages. Then wait ...

That is most unfortunate and a real pain in the butt. It seems that it wouldn't be too uncommon that one might want multiple actions to take place at the same 'Condions to Start'. In my case, I am trying to send an email, a text message, call a shell script, make an HTTP call, and finally execute a ...

I wrote a web application in PHP/MySQL along with a php-based daemon that checks the database and sends the messages. It is also proving handy to track backup jobs, database dumps and other scheduled tasks to alert me if they failed to execute when expected. What I wrote is tailored to my environmen...

Hrmm... My solution was to throw together a watchdog application that I had needed for in other areas anyway. HostMonitor checks in with the Watchdog application every 60 seconds. If the Watchdog hasn't heard from HM for 5 consecutive minutes, it starts sending out alerts. In turn, I have HM checkin...

Set order of execution in Action Profile
It would be handy to be able to change the order that items in the action profile were processed. Currently, it appears that an action profile with multiple actions are processed in order of insertion. I have multiple actions that do various tasks (send email, SMS, post messages in IRC, update twitt...

Active RMA Alert
I am using HostMonitor 7.22c and RMA for Windows 3.64; both on Windows 2K3 servers. I do a number of time sensitive tests using an active RMA behind a firewall. In the event that the RMA gets disconnected or the service is stopped, the tests that use the RMA simply do not run. I don't even get the c...
