RMA Crashes when connection initiated
We have a Linux Centos 5.7 server with RMA agent 1.28 x64 running. Yesterday the server lost power and when it came back up the RMA will not stay running. We can start it, but upon initiating a refresh from Host Monitor the service stops. Logs show valid connections being made, no other info in logs...

Check NT Log - change multiple tests alert condition
We have several hundred Windows servers for which we monitor system events. On many of them we want to change the alert condition to not alert on a few specific event IDs. The servers are organized by folder so we end up having to export, modify, import, drag and drop to the correct folder, then go ...

Set to Alert when incoming mail server does not receive mail before next checking cycle. We have performed some troubleshooting on this, and we do see that the email has made it back to the Exchange mailbox. It's just sitting there but HM does not pick it up for some reason. When we restart the HM s...

Mail Relay test
Running Host Monitor 8.64 on Windows 2003 Server. We have an Exchange 2003 server that hosts mailboxes three hops away from the HM server, through one firewall. The test is set up to send an email to a remote address and then an automatic forward sends it back to the Exchange server. The test works ...

Text log folder path macro
Hi Max: I have a text log issue that I would like to solve using Host Monitor. We have a tool that collects snmp and stores certain information about the devices in a text file. The text log filename is always the same, but the folder path changes every day. The folder path is based on current date,...

Multiple dependant tests
I am not sure I understand.
I already have the ping repeating the test 5 times. What do you mean by "change frequency to, let's say, 5 secs"? Would this be an advanced action? What will the script look like to do this?

Multiple dependant tests
I have several hosts on a remote network across a VPN. I ping the router to test Inet connectivity then ping the internal interface on the firewall to test VPN connectivity. Sometimes the pings fail but the VPN is still good so I have a dependant test that performs SSH into the internal interface on...

Text Log question
I have a custom application that appends a line of text to a log file when there is a suspected security event. The line of text has several fields in it delimited by a tilde (~). One of the fields contains the relative path to another text file that contains the information I need to make an inform...
