Alex, Log1.txt is showing successful connections with no issues. Log2.txt is only showing a couple of errors a day which does nto correspond to the frequency I am seeing in HostMonitor (I can refresh a folder and have the RMA test for the problem server error every second or third refresh with no co...

RMA Cannot Send Data ERROR?
I am currently running hostMonitor V6.10 on Server 2003 (fully patched) and across approximately 30 servers (all running Server 2003 / RMA agent V3.35) I am having no problems, with one exception: On one server (same configuration as the rest) I am regularly getting the following RMA error returned ...

Filter on partial test name for reports?
Is it possible to generate reports based on a partial match to a test name across multiple folders? We have our tests organised into specific categories (based on what we are monitoring - for example services, drive space, etc), rather than for specific systems (for example mail server, file server,...

Conditional test vs test when condition met?
I am trying to peform a conditional test like the following: IF ('%::SERVER1 (CPU TEMPERATURE)::SimpleStatus%'=='DOWN') or ('%::SERVER1 (CPU FAN)::SimpleStatus%'=='DOWN') THEN TEST IS "BAD" IF ('%::SERVER1 (CPU TEMPERATURE)::SimpleStatus%'=='UP') and ('%::SERVER1 (CPU FAN)::SimpleStatus%'=...

Alex, That possibly makes sense in this case... As I understand this Cisco OID feature to work (described below) the OID does nto actually exist as a readable value - it is used to trigger a TFTP copy from the device only. We have a mid-sized Cisco network with about 15 devices that we monitor (larg...

SNMP Set not working?
I am trying to use the "SNMP Set" action for the first time, but cannot get it to work correctly. Everything seems fine and all the required values are set, but if I do a packet capture the set value is always NULL, regardless of what I type into this field. Is this a bug, or is there some...

Telnet Script Check?
Is there any way of configuring HostMonitor to perform a system check via a telnet login? I am assuming that it would need to be via a script, but I have not been able to find a command line telnet application. Would I need to do something in a scripting language like vbscript (which I am unfamiliar...

Alex, Thanks for the quick reply. This solution does work, but only for the tray icon and not for the visual tree view in the console, etc. We use the console as our monitor screen, and even with the options you mentioned set, the folders, etc still go red on a bad (or unknown) result. I am hoping t...

"Non-Alerting" neutral check mode?
As I use HostMonitor for more complex checking of systems I am wanting to setup checks that rely on the status of other checks (in the usual dependancy fashion - either as direct dependancies or as expression based dependancies). The problem here is that in a lot of cases with these more complex che...

You took the words out of my mouth!
I was going to post my own expirience regarding HostMontior as I cannot praise this package enough - but when I came across your feedback I must say that you took the words right out of my mouth! We have been running HostMonitor 24x7 for about 4 years now and across this time I have not had the soft...
