SNMP Status Enumeration

Hi there, I'd like to request that an SNMP status enumeration feature be added to HostMonitor. At present if we monitor an OID such as 1.3.6.1.4.1.3582.1.1.3.1.4.0.0.0 (Physical Drive Status) I setup the test to alert if status <> 3 which is online status. I then add into our comments all the possib...

Alex, Obviously autodiscovery can present MANY SNMP and WMI counters, therefore what about this for an idea... Select the counters you wish to track, then have an additional setting that says 'Set as default' with a further option for 'Default for group'. ie: AVAILABLE TESTS .. .. SET AS DEFAULT for...

OK this replaced the TIMEOUT value for all SNMP tests. Excellent !! I still have the problem with RETRIES - I understand this can't be changed using ReplaceTestParam ? At any rate we can at least increase the TIMEOUT value which will hopefully improve our SNMP monitoring reliability. Could you kindl...

Editing multiple tests of the same time

I'm trying to edit over 1000+ SNMP tests and all I want to change is: TIMEOUT - increase from 2000 to 5000 RETRIES - increase from 1 to 5 When selecting multiple SNMP tests and selecting EDIT, the only things you can change for the selected tests are TEST BY, SCHEDULE, ALERT, OPTIONAL STATUS PROCESS...

I'd also like to request an extra option for both views and reports:

Select items by test properties

Test name [contains|doesn't contain]

We have standardised names for all our tests, and it would be perfect to be able to generate a view or report based on the test name.

Regards,
Andrew

DNS MX Record test - check list has not changed

Hi Alex, Well done on the new features in HostMonitor 6.70beta and 6.72beta. The new DNS MX record test is very good, but it appears to only be able to check individual records and not the entire list. I believe the test would be more robust if it had the following options: Check MX list has not cha...

We would greatly appreciate this feature as well. Ideally we would like to be able to do basic math on the reply so that we can convert it into more human readable/understandable values. With SNMP we really need to be able to convert bytes to Mbytes or Gbytes. The reply doesn't have to have MB or GB...

We would also like to see some sort of discovery or template features in HostMonitor. We are doing this manually at the moment - we have templated tests that we copy for our new servers and then have to manually modify for the different characteristics of each server. HostMonitor is extremely powerf...

There is a very easy way to do this, which I'm sure Alex could implement very easily. Imagine that you have the following structure SERVERS - NEO - ping test - MORPHEUS - ping test - TRINITY - ping test There is a macro called %FOLDER% If you could create for example an SNMP test with: Address[:port...

I tested this an it was working OK on some red-hat servers, and yet some others were displaying strange values such as 0 and 1 when they should be at least 40-80 when idle. It would definately be preferable for HostMonitor to be able to evaluate the 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.10.1.5.x OID as integers as they ...

Alex,

We also would like to request the option for SNMP GET to have an option to evaluate as INTEGER.

Our UNIX load monitoring is completely unreliable at present.
This should definately be a feature added to HostMonitor!!

Thanks,
Andrew

SSL Expiry

Hi, We are running the URL HTTPS test on a webserver to detect any problems with our SSL certificates. I'd like to be able to be informed when a certificate is about to expire (like expires in X days). This would be very useful to ensure all webservers have their SSL certificates renewed in a timely...

Hi Alex, Any idea as to when this might be implemented? I'd really like to have, for example the same CPU test used across all my Windows servers. Then, if we want to adjust the frequency of the test for all servers for example we would only need to change the master test, and all others would chang...

I'd also like to request a FILTER feature in the console. FILTER by TEST TYPE e.g. just show DISK SPACE tests for example FILTER by OK FILTER by BAD The ability to filter by test type would be fantastic - I could then select ALL of my disk space tests at once and change the alert profile for all tes...

Any idea when this version might be released?

We would really like graphing such as that used by MRTG (using RRD). These would provide instant historical charting.

Log Analyzer is ok but try loading a few months worth of 100MB daily log files... difficult!
