Have hostmon v9.10 running as a service.
If I add tests to the application to check services on remote machines, the tests run fine.
If I refresh the test(s) on the rcc I get the Win32 error5.
What is the reason for this?

Where do you see Win32 error5 ? In RCC Reply field?
Or as RCC Message dialog?
When you refresh the test by pressing spacebar (using RCC or HostMonitor no metter), HostMonitro performs the test.

RCC does not perform tests, it just shows results provided by HostMonitor.
So what exactly have you changed between these 2 test probes? Closed HostMonitor application and started HostMonitor as service?

Have you provided admin account for HostMonitor service?
Have you specifid correct account for remote server using Connection Manager or "Connect as" test property?
What Windows do you use on local and remote system? UAC enabled?

Regards
Alex

The Win32 error5 is in the rcc reply field.
If I refresh the test in the application it returns a good status. Just a problem in the rcc

This is not RCC problem.
What Windows do you use?
What user account is used for HostMonitor Service (in Windows Services applet and in HostMonitor menu Options -> Service)?
