Alex
Unfortunately, there was an unexpected incident this morning after upgrading from version 9.22 to 9.23
The service "KS Advanced Host Monitor" was just then ended, as a status SMS via GSM modem should be sent. The common log stops just this very second on
SMS log:
[30/07/2012 07:00:03] system message has been added to queue
[30/07/2012 07:00:03] Sys Com port open .. OK
[30/07/2012 07:00:05] system GSM modem initialization .. OK
[30/07/2012 07:00:12] system to 0177xxxxxxx SMS has been sent.
[30/07/2012 07:00:12] Sys Com port close .. OK
[30/07/2012 07:00:12] system GSM modem Deinitialization .. OK
[07/31/2012 07:00:03] Set system options .. OK
[07/31/2012 07:00:03] system message has been added to queue
[07/31/2012 07:00:03] Sys Com port open .. OK
I have not received a message
Unfortunately, there is neither in HostMonitor syslog nor in nt event log entries
After restarting the service, the system is running normally again. The SMS alarm action works just like always.
All parameters were normal according to the second HostMonitor before the failure. The system ran for the update about 22 hours without errors
I have therefore no explanation for the crash
regards

Just thought I'd let you know I had this problem occuring just once, about 6 months ago.
As far as I can tell I didn't happen again since.
I did almost all updates, I'm at 9.22 now.

Hello Kris,
I use HostMonitor v9.23 with 12.630 tests and 37 tests per sec.
Our installation stops monitoring every 4 days after 12 million checks .
After restarting the service, the system is running normally again.
So nothing has change since months.
The bug is persistent.

Hi Aleks,
I can well live with this mistake because the second Hostmonitor restarts the primary authority reliably automatically.
The rest - and this are an amount of functions - functions perfectly.
I can assure you that we also remain in future loyal customers.
With this product price and achievement are right!
Best regards

We stick with HM, too!
What else is there anyway? OpManager? SCOM? Pfffff... I don't think so...
HM rocks!
Just hope there will be a solution for you guys! |

Do you have the same problem?
We sent update (ver 9.23) to 3 customers that experience this problem but received answer only from one...

Freeze still occurs with version 9.23 every 5 hours.
It happens on 2 identical fujitsu-servers with MS Server 2008 x64 in two different locations.
So it cannot be a hardware-issue.

We also hope this version could provide more details in the log.
Could you please send e-mail to support@ks-soft.net?

Well, last night at midnight HM (v 9.30) stopped testing, until it was restarted this morning...
Is there anything I can email to anyone to help diagnose the problem? |

I just sent the syslog and the part of the log where it went wrong.
As I wrote in the mail, the problem begins with firing off all tests at once, and after that nothing is logged on the individual tests nor have any alerts been sent until we restarted HM....
During that time the HM interface seems to look normal...

Hi Alex,
I can confirm the last post from Kris.
My log file contains exactly 127 entries in the last second before the freezing. This corresponds quite exactly to the Hostmonitor maximum of 128 tests per second.
The second before it contains 64 entries. I have defined this value with myself as a maximum in the Hostmonitor.
The question is: Why this high value?
Maybe is a new beginning to the mistake search.
best greetings
