Hello

i installed Hostmonitor on a Server
i configurate the SMS Profile with a Nokia 6310i, over Bluetooth.
And it works.
the only problem i have is, if a error dedectet hostmonitor sends 2-4 SMS to a mobilephone with the same error MSG

the tests ar every 1 minute
"action" start if 1 bad result and repeat until status changes

so what can i do to fix it?

if i make a test SMS, it send only one sms to the phone

You should set Repeat to 1 Time instead of "Repeat until status change"

Also, most default message templates exceed 160 characters, which could result in multiple messages for just one error.
You can make a template for SMS usage or edit one of the existing ones...

Simply set default option "repeat 1 time" instead of "repeat until status changes"

Your settings looks correct.
Could you check what test items use that action profile (please use "Usage report" button on Action profiles dialog).
Is there any other action profiles setup to send SMS ?

Does "first error" mean single test item changed test status from "good" to "bad" and was not performed 2nd (3rd...) time?

Probably GSM module does not receive confirmation from modem and tries to send message agin.
You may create registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KS-Soft\GSMX and set DefaultRetries=1 (DWORD), this should help to avoid duplicated messages.
Please restart HostMonitor after you modify registry.

Alex

i added this line in registry

its the same, and yes, it means when status changes from good in bad - i get 4 SMS than
but when the test refreshs, and status is still bad, hostmonitor dont send any more SMS.

when i change settings to "repeat until status is changed" it allways send 3-4 sms every refresh

EDIT :

I reconnectet the Nokia 6310i via bluetooth , and change the settings to "until status changed" and set the baud rate on HM and the nokia to 19200
acctualy it works, and i only get 1 sms every 2 mins (test refresh time)

Have you restarted HostMonitor?
Did this fix the problem?
What version of HostMonitor do you use?
Are you running HostMonitor as service? Application? I hope you have only 1 instance of HostMonitor running on the system?

Regards
Alex
