Maybe I dont have a full understanding of how the reporting functions work. I am reading threads and documentation but I am hung up on a couple of things.
We have a server dedicated per client. So 30 servers = 30 clients.
We monitor traffic trough the front end nic via snmp and works great. We have a need to generate a traffic report per client. So 30 different monthly emailed reports showing their total network utilization. One for each server
How is this done if the scheduler is only able to execute 5 action profiles that generate reports?
In the action profile where do you specify the name and location of the generated report file itself? Options > Reports? There are only a few ot those also.
What happens if we grow to 1000 clients?

You may setup a lot of tests (e.g. ping 127.0.0.1) that will run by schedule and assingn alert profile for each of them.

Each folder allows you to specify up to 5 reports (you may select report type and path to report file): http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mframe.htm#testlist.htm#FolderTree |

Wow! I totally missed that in the folder properties. Thank you so much. I knew I was missing something. This program does everything I have been able to throw at it. |

Ok. I can generate reports and have them emailed but if the test is set to execute once a month doesnt it only give me the current test results and not every minute like I need?
I would like:
Check the bandwidth on the nic every minute but at the end of the month, send the report showing the entire months test results. Min, Max, and Average.
More of a logic problem in how to use the tools in HM. But I am getting better with every passing day. |
