|
|
Hi all,
moving from HM v6.82 to v7.06, all URL request to https pages that have a check contents enabled return "bad contents". All other tests performed on normal URL (i.e. non https) are properly handled.
Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot in advance. |

Could you please provide sample (URL and test settings)?
Regards

Alex,
thanks a lot. Changing all tests with the full redirected URL has solved most of the problem.
I still have a couple of them that do not work properly.
One example:
https://www.ribesticket.it:443/ambrajovinelli/default.asp?r=1024
Searching for "online" still returns "Bad contents"
One last info: I checked with our "disaster recovery" system that still runs HM v6.82. All tests returns "Host is Alive" without changes to URL.
Best regards,

Confirmed. This one does not work somehow, we are checking why ...

Strange. We have tested www.sanpaolo.com:443 using HostMonitor 6.82, it works exactly like version 7.06. Also we have tried our standard set of servers, works correctly...
What Windows do you use? Service Pack?
BTW: In order to perform HTTPS tests HostMonitor 7+ uses WinHTTP DLL instead of WinInet DLL that was used before. According to Microsoft WinHTTP should work more reliable.

Alex,
thanks for your confirmation. In the meantime we are handling the page control using the "CRC check" method instead of "contents check".

Request https://www.ribesticket.it:443/ambrajovinelli/default.asp?r=1024 returns the following page to HostMonitor
=====================
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE=javascript>'#$D#$A' <!--'#$D#$A' window.location.href = 'default.asp?r=' + window.screen.width;'#$D#$A' //-->'#$D#$A' </SCRIPT>'
=====================
Probably script on your web server checks for some specific parameters, e.g. agent name? Could you get some information about /ambrajovinelli/default.asp script and tell us what exactly information does it expect?

Hi Alex,
sorry for delay.

I'm still waiting for an answer about your question. In the mean time I checked with HM v6.82 and I'm still able to properly perform the test.
I'd like to know if you tried the test that fails the content check even in a 6.82 environment.
Best regards,

Yes, we have tried version 6.82. Web server returns the same "redirect" page after 1st request so HostMonitor shows "Bad contents" status. However web server returns different data after 2nd request, then HostMonitor 6.82 changes status to "Host is alive".
Its hard to say what exactly is going on without knowing what exactly your script doing. May be it uses some variables for each session...
