Got some ideas but not sure...
Is that possible to get access to your machine next week?
Otherwise we will make 10 test programs

Alex,
> Is that possible to get access to your machine next week?
Yes, that can be arranged. I'll need some details on yuor IP number(s) but I'll just drop you a mail at support@ks-soft.net if that's the easiest way ?
In that case you can just reply to that mail.

Alex,
Update: The problem with process tests performed by HM itself doesn't seem to be related to Hyper Threading. I disabled HT on our server yesterday and the problem persists in 6.08 Beta. The hostmon.exe from www.ks-soft.net/download/hm603std.zip does not have this problem.
Another issue: HM 6.08 Beta seems to be quite CPU hungry in intervals.
With HT enabled it maxes out one of my "four" CPU's for approx. 30 seconds, then goes back to normal load for a minute or so and so the cycle goes.
Without HT enabled it maxes out one of the two CPU's in the same cycle.
What's worse, when HM peaks it seems to miss some of it's tests. No errors are logged, it simply skips the execution of some tests.
For this reason I'm now running on a hostmon.exe version 6.03 (from www.ks-soft.net/download/hm603std.zip) which doesn't have this problem.
I've only replaced hostmon.exe in my full 6.08 Beta installation directory but everything seems to work fine.

I don't see a reason to use version 6.03. You may install official release 6.04, it should work fine.

New memory manager starts special thread to "defragment" address space. This helps to reduce memory usage and program should work faster. Thread has low priority so it should not use CPU when other processes need processor time.

H'm... may be we should go back to old memory manager. New one offers several benefits but its very hard to find the reasons of such behaviour when we cannot reproduce the problem

I hope we fixed Process test. Could you try this version: www.ks-soft.net/download/hm608c.zip ?
Regarding "miss some of it's tests" - how exactly it looks? "Last test time" field is too old? Test is dependant on some other?

Confirmed - I'm now able to open a list of processes and select one.
However, HM instantly maxes out one of my CPU's (HT is curently not enabled) and I can't even get out of the Test Properties window as HM is unresponsive.
Updated from 6.03 to 6.04 - everything seems fine so far.

The tests I discovered this on only run once every 24 hour. The execution of these tests don't show up in the quick log nor in the syslog for the two days I ran with 6.08 Beta and I know for sure that their alert profiles weren't executed as they should (they run on advanced mode condition to start action checking that 1 equals 1 and then executes some action).
> Test is dependant on some other?
No - none of these tests depend on other tests.

I haven't had this column enabled until now. Now it shows what it should as I've been running 6.03/6.04 for the last few days - only my quick log and syslog show it (well, the syslog by *not* showing it ).

You may see this information in the Info pane as well

Not sure I understand. Test was executed at specified time or not?

Alex,
> Not sure I understand. Test was executed at specified time or not?
Sorry, let me clarify:
One particular test is supposed to be executed once every day at 7:30 PM. It's been working for a few years beeing executed once every day at 7:30 PM.
In my quick log I can see that it ran on june 24., 25., 26., 27., 28., 29.
and july 2., 3., 4. and 5.
It did not run on june 30. and july 1. where I was running HM 6.08 Beta.
In my syslog for june 30. and july 1. I do not see the test executed - in fact I don't see the test at all.
In my syslogs for all the other days mentioned I can find the test executed.
The test used in this example is just one among many tests that weren't executed running 6.08 Beta so it's not because I accidentally trashed it or messed up some dependencies or similar.

But I was asking about "Last test time" property of the test. This property shows when test was executed.

Anyway, we will not release version 6.08. So, use version 6.04
