ODBC logging without common logging

Post by Marcus »

As far as I know it is still not possible to log test results to an odbc database, without enabling the common log (logging to disk). It would save a lot of resources to be able to log to a database server without logging the same data to a text file on disk.

You may set "Maximum log size" option to 100 Kb.

Which means the file will be recreated at least every 50 seconds (which again uses a lot of resources). Perhaps logging to a null device is an option??

Actually you can disable logging (I didn't have time to think yesterday )
Just remove name of the log file (empty field).

It works great! Thanks again, but........

When opening the options dialog, it will not allow you to enter (or leave) an empty field for the log file, so you have to make the entries in the HostMon.ini file by hand for every setting you change, using the options dialog......

Ok, just disable log:
- "Common log file" option -> "Log Disabled"
- "ODBC Log" option enabled

I must have missed something. The last time I tried, this disabled the odbc logging

Thanks........
