Hy Alex,

our research is going well. But i have a small question.

We need to have a backup hostmonitor server per domain incase the first one fails.

i can have the backup server check the hostmonitor service of the primary to see if it's still there and takeover when it's down using dependant tests, no problem.

But if on the primary the monitoring is simply stopped on the console the secondary doesn't take over as the service in that case is still running only stopped testing.

Is there a way i can have my Backup server do a specific test on the Primary so it also accounts for tests being stopped ?
directly in the hostmonitor system of the primary then ?

Thanks

Bart

I think you may use "File Availability" test to check log file or some report that should be updated routinely of the primary system. This test allows you to check how old file is and start actions when file is older than NN min.

Regards
Alex
