i am a new user of ip tools version 2.20
something odd happened when i installed it [IP Tools]
I am also using AnalogX Port Blocker

before i installed IP Tools Port Blocker said ip address was 149.234.XXX.XXX [example] this ip is the one that my isp gives me when i connect to the internet

After installing IP Tools Port Blocker says ip address is 127.0.01

Any idea why this happened?

os = Win XP SP1a no firewall AV = AVG

sorry if i have not included enough info pls let me know
thank you

ALSO where can I get a HELP file for IP Tools, whenever I click on HELP, it tells me "file cannot be found"

Any system has address 127.0.0.1, its loop, local interface. Before or after IP-Tools installation your system has this address. Even if your system disconnected from network, this address is present. So, nothing wrong.

Help files included in the package. Do you see DOC\ folder in IP-Tools's directory? Any files there?

yes KS-Soft
i kinda know that 127.0.0.1 is present in all states, but wot i was wondering was why:

before IP Tools install:
Analog X Port Blocker program reported my ip as 169.234.xxx.xxx

after IP Tools install:
Analog X Port Blocker program reported my ip as 127.0.0.1

and yes i found DOC folder thank you

Sorry, I don't know how X Port Blocker works and how it chooses address to display.
I just know that IP-Tools does not change any system setting, it does not install any DLLs and do not change system data in the registry.

Alex
