Hi,

I have setup the Jabber options in Primary Jabber Account:

Login server: Talk.google.com
SSL/TLS Explicit/5222
JabberID and Password: My service account google account details

I have then setup an Action Profile to "Send message to Jabber" with Quick Log "Store action results" ticked.

Start when 1 consequtive bad, repeat 1 time.

Action parameters send message to (my actual google talk account address) and a basic message template.

Needless to say this doesn't work and nothing is reporting to syslog.htm so I'm not sure where to go from here

HostMonitor version?
Monitoring started?
Actions enabled?
Test changed status from "good" to "bad" after you setup this action?

Regards
Alex

Hi Alex,

Monitoring is starting as all other tests are active. Action is enabled, I assume this means I have selected it as the Alerts profile for the test. This is there and shows in the individual tests under column dead actions send message to Jabber.

I am testing this on a test that was already failing though. Do I need to pick a test that works, change profile then break it for it to work?

Regards,

Gavin

This means action should not be started.
You may change action settings (e.g. set "Repeat until status changes" option) or change test status (e.g. using "Reverse alert" option)

Regards
Alex

Got it reporting to the syslog now saying:

Error: Cannot send message to Jabber account myemail@gmail.com. Invalid recipient or recipient is unavailable; Set the 'to' attribute of stream element to the domain part of the user's JID. Example: to='gmail.com'.

I am definitely online on google talk. Any ideas?

What is to='gmail.com'??
If you want to send message to some jabber account, you should specify correct account name, e.g. username@jabber.com or jabberusername@google.com.

Alex
