|
|
Hallo,
I would like to check the availability of DNS in our Network.
I like to have a test which depends on other test (DNS - test of two / three individual dns-servers. (test are already working).
The Master test should Return
Good: if one or more Tests have simplestatus up
Bad: only if all test have simplestatus down
We tested a lot of things p.a. with the expression (('%::test1 - Domain Name Service::SimpleStatus%'=='UP') or ('%::test2 - Domain Name Service::SimpleStatus%'=='UP'))
and some options with the warning status but didnīt get it working |

What version of HostMonitor do you use?
Have you marked "Synchronize status&alerts" option? What status have you specified for "OtherwiseStatus" field?

Sorry, I cannot reproduce the problem.
Could you explain what exact does not work?
I've setup similar configuratuion and everything works as expected.
I just noticed two things on your screen-shot:
1. Your DNS test name is kind of 'SK4 - DNS -...', while second test expression contains (('%SK44 - DNS - ..'). Are you sure expression is correct?
2. We recommend to use "%SuggestedStatus%" variable in "Use Warning status if" expresion. So, your expression should be like: '%SuggestedStatus%'=='Wait for Master'

You made at least 2 mistakes
1) you forgot to mark "Synchronize status&alerts option"
2) you have used quotation marks for "Otherwise status" field.
